The Idaho Track is a unique program of the University of Washington School of Medicine. Medical students can complete all of their third-year clerkship requirements as well as all fourth-year clerkships and electives in Idaho. The WWAMI (Idaho) Office for Clinical Medical Education directs and coordinates the activities of the Idaho Track under the direction of the UWSOM and the Idaho Track Steering Committee.
Students who choose to sign up for at least 5 of the 6 required third-year clerkships in Idaho are considered “Idaho Trackers.” Both “Idaho Trackers” and other WWAMI medical students rotate through clerkships and electives in Idaho.
I have really had a great time in the Idaho Track this year. It is an incredible, supportive program you all have put together and run. In comparing it to the experience of my colleagues in Seattle and around WWAMI land it is clearly unparalleled. -KaLynne Harris, IT 2004-2005
