Admissions Process
Residency Information and Requirements
The Idaho Legislature currently reserves 20 seats in the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM) for its residents. Before submitting an application, one must be certified as an Idaho resident.
Please note that the University of Idaho will automatically provide a copy of your residency certification to Idaho State University for verification to the University of Utah. Students only need to submit a worksheet to certify residency through one institution.
NOTE: Prospective medical students must apply for admission through the University of Washington first, designating Idaho as their state of residence. As part of the application review, applicants will be directed to submit their residency certification worksheet. The residency worksheet should NOT be submitted prior to contact from University of Washington.
