Idaho Rural Physician Incentive Program

All state supported Idaho medical education students entering in the Fall 2003 semester or thereafter, will be assessed a fee equal to 4% of the annual average medical support fee paid by the state.

Idaho residents interested in WWAMI must follow the normal application procedures for entrance into the UWSOM.  Contact the UWSOM Office of Admissions at 206/543-7212; email askuwsom@u.washington.edu; or visit http://www.uwmedicine.org/Education/MDProgram/Admissions/

Regardless of where you plan to apply for medical school you should also visit the Association of American Medical Colleges web site for important admissions testing and application information.

Idaho students admitted to the UWSOM spend their first year at the University of Idaho WWAMI site in Moscow, Idaho together with 20 students from the Washington State University WWAMI site for a combined class of 38.  Classes are taught on both campuses with faculty from both UI and WSU.  Students study the same medical courses offered at the UW School of Medicine but the smaller class size at UI/WSU enables professors to give additional assistance and attention to students.
