| Description:
Begin standing upright approximately 1 foot away from
the box you will be jumping to. Dip into a quarter squat position by
bending at the knees and hips while pushing your arms behind your
body. From this position rapidly accelerate your body upward by
extending your hips, knees, and ankles and aggressively swinging your arms
upward. Using maximal effort, jump as high as you can vertically and
laterally and land on the box. When you land on the box, absorb the landing with
your hips and knees. Try to be as quiet as you can when you land on
the box. You should not stomp your feet into the top of the
box. Step down from the box, do not jump down, and reset for the
next repetition. Perform the designated number of repetitions from
each side of the box. Use a box height that is appropriate for
you. If you can still land effectively using a higher box, do
so. |
