| Description: Begin standing on one side
of the speed ladder facing down the length of it. Maintain a
slight bend in the knees and keep your weight on the balls of your
feet. Move in a 2 in, 1 out pattern. Begin by stepping into
the first hole of the speed ladder with each foot (that is the 2 in
movement). Continue by stepping out with just your outside foot
(that is the 1 out movement). This 1 out step is like a plant step
preparing you to move laterally back across the ladder. Lead with
your inside foot (the foot still in the first hole) into the next hole
in the ladder followed by the outside foot (the foot you used to plant
with outside the ladder). Continue this pattern the entire length
of the ladder moving as quickly as possible while maintaining
control. This is a more advance movement pattern - be sure to
start out slow enough to perform it correctly and then worry about
picking up speed. |
