What to Expect?
From 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. participants who were unable
to attend the May retreat will be introduced to the Power of
Play theme and brought up to speed. From 11:00 – 3:00 p.m. all
participants will get acquainted, organize into learning teams,
and brainstorm ideas on collaborative scholarship. A
professional facilitator will assist us in this process. Lunch
will be provided. |

Facilitator
Karen Duncum, MA,
MPEC, founded Star Performance Consulting as a result of
the need she saw, first-hand, in organizations over 25 years
ago. From Chief Operating Officer of a multi-state
organization to Corporate Consultant to Psychotherapist to
Facilitator and Team Developer to Executive and Personal Coach,
Karen has worked with companies like Raytheon, Hitachi, Mobile
Oil Corporation, Atlas Van Lines International, Wesely-Thomas
Enterprises, Hoffman and Associates, Manpower, Inc., Morter
Health Systems International, Braille Institute, Presbyterian
Health Centers. Born out of her research in and study of
play and her desire to facilitate creativity, innovation and
growth for individuals, teams and organizations, Karen crafts
meetings and events with playful art forms and games. She
has also created team and individual programs in the areas of
Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Development and Executive
Effectiveness. She holds a masters degree in Counseling
Psychology with Emphasis in Depth Psychology and master of
Executive and Personal Coaching.

RESERVATIONS
Participants will need to make their own room reservations
by May 1st. Please let the
reservation clerk know that you are with the University of
Idaho Humanities group. Your room will be billed directly to
the University of Idaho although you will have to provide a
credit card number for phone and other incidentals. |

What to Expect?
The purpose of the retreat is to get to know other
humanities faculty who are interested in the exploration of
play, and, as a group, to explore the power of play to stimulate
creativity and collaboration in our professional and private
lives. We have organized several speakers, activities, and
playful events to stimulate our discussion. Dress casually and
bring a jacket for outdoor activities. The casino has Internet
capability, but it is not wireless.
