PBAC Representatives and Staff

  "Monitoring the wise use of ground water resources of the Palouse Region"    

The Palouse Basin Aquifer Committee consists of 14 representatives, two from each of the seven member entities. The member entities are the cities of Moscow,  Pullman and Colfax, the University of Idaho, Washington State University, Latah County (Idaho) and Whitman County (Washington). Each entity typically appoints an elected official or administrator (city council member, county commissioner), as well as an individual who serves the entity in a technical capacity (Director of Public Works, engineer) to serve on the Committee.

    The Executive Manager and Technical Advisor are responsible for setting agendas for monthly meetings, updating the Groundwater Management Plan, writing Annual Reports, monitoring progress and encouraging implementation of goals of Groundwater Management Plan, providing oversight of PBAC-sponsored research projects, serving as a liaison between the PBAC and the communities, communicating with Idaho and Washington regulators, and maintaining detailed and accurate records on water levels and pumping in the basin.
