Ombuds
James
R. Fazio, Ph.D.,
joined the Ombuds office in March of
2006 and has been with the University of Idaho
since beginning as an assistant
professor in 1974. During his career he has served as
department head in Resource
Recreation and Tourism (renamed the
Department of Social Sciences) for
the years 1975-83 and 1989-90. He
also served as an associate dean in the College of
Natural Resources from 1983-88.
Along with serving as university ombuds, Dr. Fazio continues
to teach courses, including public relations for natural
resource managers, and provide outreach services in the
Department of Conservation Social Sciences. He is a member
of the International Ombudsman Association and other
professional organizations.During his
career at the University of Idaho, Dr. Fazio has received
numerous honors for teaching and service, including the 2004
UI Outreach Excellence Award.
