What is a Culture Kit?
A culture kit is a collection of materials that represent
both traditional and modern aspects of a culture. Kits
include items such as modern and traditional clothing, maps,
stamps, coins, small flags, art objects, crafts, games, dolls,
toys, photos, etc.
Who can use the Culture Kits?
As part of the University of Idaho's outreach mission,
culture kits provide international education opportunities to
civic groups, university classrooms, youth groups, preschools,
public, private and home school students across the state of
Idaho. The kits are designed to provide a hands-on
educational experience. Users are encouraged to interact
with the items in the kit- try out a recipe, play a traditional
game- make a culture more real & interesting than simply reading
about it in a book!
Reserve a Culture Kit
To request a kit, simply click
here or email
gkauffman@sub.uidaho.edu with the country name and dates you
would like to reserve. There is a $10 fee per kit plus a

unless something is missing or broken when the kit is returned.
Kits can be borrowed for up to six weeks.
Borrowers who are unable to pick up kits from the UI can have
them sent via UPS or USPS. Borrowers are responsible for
any postage and handling costs. Make a note in your email
