2011-2012 SEMESTER/YEAR PROGRAM

Location:                               Turrialba, Costa Rica
Eligibility:
                              Graduate-level students
Language of Instruction:
         English

Academic Program: 
Students can take graduate-level courses within the following areas:

    •  Tropical agriculture
    •  Forestry in tropical and subtropical zones
    •  Agroforestry systems plant, soil and entomological science

Students can conduct research rather than take courses if they identify a collaborating CATIE faculty member. UI Major Professors can seek advice on making necessary CATIE contacts from Sanford Eigenbrode at:  sanforde@uidaho.edu.

Housing:
    •  Apartments for married couples with or without children
    •  Dormitories 

Dates (subject to change):

    Fall:
      Trimester III, Block II:        Mid-August - Late September
      Trimester IV, Block I:         Late September - Early November
      Trimester IV, Block II:        Early November - Mid December                                   

    Spring:
      Trimester I:                        Early January - Late March
      Trimester II, Block I:          Early April - Early May

Program fee (subject to change): Covers: tuition only

    One Semester:                      $4,650
    Academic Year:                      $8,350

  • In addition to the program fee, students will pay a non-refundable $150 UI application fee when they apply.

Application deadline:
    Fall/Academic Year:              April 1
    Spring:                              October 15
