About AustraLearn
AustraLearn: North American Center for Australian and New Zealand Universities is a leading nonprofit provider based in Colorado that is the largest sender of North American students to New Zealand and Australia.

AustraLearn offers a choice of 20 Australian and all 8 New Zealand universities to study at for a semester or year abroad, plus professional internships in Australia, short courses for summer as well as enrollment into full-degree programs, with options for every major at UI.  The programs are both academically and culturally enriching for students, providing the full range of services to assist student with the process of preparing for a successful abroad experience.

AustraLearn believes that cultural integration is key even when students select an English-speaking destination where no foreign language is required.  Cultural integration is a cornerstone of our program management: we supply extensive pre-trip information, counseling and support, house our students with Australians and other international students almost without exception, and allow our group to participate in campus activities versus American group activities during free time.

The staff of AustraLearn is committed to providing a very independent, cross-cultural opportunity, and are consistently working to provide students the best value for their investment that involves personal service and an overwhelming interest in their ability to interact with the Australian and New Zealand cultures while abroad.

Program Introduction/Orientation
All students receive AustraLearn’s famous and exclusive 4-day, 3-night, Program Introduction to either the Great Barrier Reef (Australia-bound students) or the North Island of New Zealand (New Zealand-bound students) included in the cost of their study abroad experience, including lodging, transportation to and from Cairns, Queensland (Australia) or Rotorua (New Zealand), and most meals and entrance fees.  The Program Introduction gives students tips on Australian or New Zealand culture by exploring the differences and similarities they may find during their stay; provides insight into the education system, and allows them to see some of each country’s highlights and attractions while getting to know fellow study abroad students before arriving at their new university.

In addition to informative lectures from AustraLearn’s local leaders on culture, customs, laws, safety, academics and cultural adjustment, activities include (Australia): Full-day cruise and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef; guided tour of Wild World Tropical Zoo; cultural experience at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.
