Program
Introduction/Orientation
All
students receive AustraLearn’s famous and exclusive 4-day,
3-night, Program Introduction to either the Great Barrier
Reef (Australia-bound students) or the North Island of New
Zealand (New Zealand-bound students) included in the cost of
their study abroad experience, including lodging,
transportation to and from Cairns, Queensland (Australia) or
Rotorua (New Zealand), and most meals and entrance fees.
The Program Introduction gives students tips on Australian
or New Zealand culture by exploring the differences and
similarities they may find during their stay; provides
insight into the education system, and allows them to see
some of each country’s highlights and attractions while
getting to know fellow study abroad students before arriving
at their new university.
In
addition to informative lectures from AustraLearn’s local
leaders on culture, customs, laws, safety, academics and
cultural adjustment, activities include (Australia):
Full-day cruise and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef;
guided tour of Wild World Tropical Zoo; cultural experience
at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. (New Zealand):
authentic Maori “Hangi” dinner and cultural program; Zorbing;
Rainbow Springs Farm Show; jet boating and Rock n’ Ropes at
