About Czech Republic
In
1989, the Soviet authority over Czechoslovakia collapsed and the country
underwent a peaceful “Velvet Revolution.” A few years later on January
1, 1993, the country split into the two countries that we know today—the
Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Czech Republic has been a member of the
European Union since 2004 but still maintains its own national currency.
Czech Republic is located in the heart of Central Europe and also houses
the Presidency of the Council of the European Union as of January 1,
2009. Prague is both the capitol and largest city with 10.5 million
people. (This profile is not done)

Education in the
Czech
Republic is free and compulsory from ages 6 to 15. Study in public
universities is unlimited and free, but after age 26, the attendant will
not receive the student status from social services and the state will
not pay his health insurance during their studies. There
are many different universities in the Czech Republic. The best know is
probably The Charles University in Prague, built during the reign of the
Czech King Charles IV in 1348.
