Returning Home Welcome back! Now that you have had a successful adventure abroad, you may be wondering how you can get involved on campus, you might be wondering about how to get a job in the field of international education, or you just might be suffering from reverse culture shock. You can find out about all of these things here. Click on the items from the list below to find great information about how to keep your international experience going.
After students return from their overseas adventure, UI students will be invited to attend a Welcome Back Party (non-UI students are welcome to attend, but most cannot due to travel restrictions). At orientation we discuss ways to get involved on campus, we give pointers for how to get a job in the field, we discuss reverse culture shock, and we share stories and experiences (and scrapbooks) from abroad. We also serve free pizza and soft drinks. This is a fun way to meet other students who went abroad, students who will have had similar experiences and who can relate to your stories. Students will receive details about the Welcome Back Orientation within the first few weeks back on campus. If you have any questions, or need the date, time, and place of the next Welcome Back Orientation, contact the UI Study Abroad Office at (208) 885-4075 or abroad@uidaho.edu. Again, welcome back! |
