International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) Application

 

Steps to Applying to an ISEP Program:

  1. Complete the appropriate application:     

  1. Send or turn-in the following to UI Study Abroad:

  • Your completed ISEP application consisting of:

1.     Participant Profile
2.     Optional: If you have a passport, include a legible copy of the first page. If not, your host may request a copy later.
3.     Host Site Request List
4.     Language Proficiency Report (one for each proposed language of instruction)
5.     Personal Statements (one in each proposed language of instruction)
6.     Academic References (two forms; each one completed by a university-level professor or instructor)
7.     Course Request List (one for each site on your Host Site Request List)
8.     Official Transcripts from all universities/colleges you have attended
9.     Two copies of everything listed above, with the exception of the references, language proficiency report, and
         transcripts, which should be submitted in their original sealed envelopes.
10.   A Placement Fee of $375 for ISEP Exchange Programs OR a deposit $375 for ISEP-Direct that goes toward
         your ISEP-Direct program fee.

UI Student Fees:
  • $150 application fee – charged to your UI student account when you apply.
    Note: Non-UI students should send a check payable to UI Bursar with their application.

  • 2012-2013 ISEP Exhange Program Fee: $9,100/semester , $17,600/academic year includes: tuition, room, and meals. Students are responsible for their airfare, insurance, books and supplies, and personal expenses. Program costs are subject to change.

  • 2012-2013 ISEP-Direct Fee: Students will pay their program fees to ISEP Central but will be charged a $500/semester or a $300/summer UI registration/programming fee to their UI student account prior to departure.

ISEP Exchange Priority Application Deadlines: (To be considered in the first round of placements)

Fall & Academic Year programs: January 25th
Spring programs: August 25th
Summer programs March 25, April 10, or April 25th (depends on site)

NOTE: Applications are still accepted on a rotating basis for those students who miss these priority deadlines. However, there will be less ISEP exchange sites available after the priority deadlines.
 

ISEP-Direct Deadlines:

There is no priority deadline for ISEP-Direct semester or year-long programs but certain universities will have their own deadlines. Placements are made on a rolling admissions basis and students have a good chance of placement.
 

UI Refund Policies:

  • The $150 application fee is non-refundable

  • UI registration/programming fee is refundable if you withdraw from your program by the billing deadlines below. Non-refundable after these dates.

    • Fall/Full-Year Programs: July 1st

    • Spring Programs: December 1st

    • Summer Programs: May 1st

  • For your specific program fees, please refer to your program's refund policy on their website.
