EcoLife Expeditions Application

 
Steps to Applying to EcoLife, South Africa:
  1. Complete the following EcoLife applications and additional application requirements:

Wildlife Management Program:

Vets-In-The-Wild Program:

  1. Send or turn-in the following to UI Study Abroad:

    • EcoLife Application and additional application requirements as listed above

    • UI Supplemental Application & Agreement (pdf)

    • Official transcripts from all universities and colleges that you have attended.
      Note:
      -
      If you are a UI student, use the UI Transcript Request form (pdf) to do this.  Please write "UI Study Abroad" in the "Mail to" box.

    • 1 Passport-size photo

    • Disciplinary Clearance Form (pdf) (UI Students only)

    • Transfer Credit Letter of Understanding (pdf)  (Non-UI students only)

    • A $350 application fee/deposit ($200 deposit is put toward your program fee, $150 application fee) will be charged to your UI Student Account. Non-UI students should send a check payable to UI Bursar with their application.

    • $300 UI registration/programming fee. Charged prior to your departure.

Preferred Application Deadlines:

For Fall or Academic Year:    April 1
For Spring:    October 15
 

(Ecolife Application Deadlines)
Session 1: March 15
Session 2: April 15
Session 3: May 1

There will be a $50 late application fee for students who miss the application deadlines.

You must submit a check, money order, or pay by credit card equivalent to 25% of the program cost when you submit your application. The program balance will be due 4 weeks prior to the start of the program.

Note:  Some programs fill prior to the application deadlines.  Students should apply early to ensure a spot on the program.  Also, the UI Study Abroad Office will consider additional applicants after these deadlines provided space is still available on the program.
 

UI Refund Policies:

  • The $150 application fee is non-refundable

  • The $200 deposit is refundable if you withdraw from your program by the billing deadlines below. Non-refundable after these dates.

    • Fall/Full-Year Programs: July 1st

    • Spring Programs: December 1st

    • Summer Programs: May 1st

  • The entire program fee is non-refundable if you withdraw after the official program start date.
