Source: U.S. Bureau of the Census, [year] Census of Manufactures, Geographic Area Series, MC[yr]-A-13, 1987, 1992.
Notes: Includes operating manufacturing establishments and auxiliaries. Includes places with 450 (1987) or 500 (1992), manufacturing employees or more.
Payroll, employment, and sales data for some small single-unit companies with up to 20 employees were obtained from administrative records of other government agencies rather than from census report forms. These data were then used in conjunction with industry averages to estimate the items shown for these small establishments. This technique was also used for other establishments whose reports were not received at time data were tabulated. See notes below for meaning of symbols where estimated data account for 10 percent or more of figures shown.
D Withheld to avoid disclosing individual company confidential data.
Z Represents a number or percent that rounds to less than half the unit of notation shown.
[1] Includes establishments with payroll at any time during the year.
[2] Value added by manufacture is computed using inventory data reported at cost or market prior to any adjustment to LIFO cost. This uniform instruction is a change from prior years (before 1982), in which respondents were permitted to value their inventories using any generally accepted accounting method. Consequently, 1982 data for value added by manufacture are not comparable to prior year data.
[3] Aggregate of cost of materials and value of shipments includes extensive duplication since products of some industries are used as materials by others.
[4] No data provided in source materials for Camas County.
