2500
APPELLATE REVIEW OF ACADEMIC DECISIONS
PREAMBLE: This section was added to the Handbook in July, 1987, and considerably simplified in November, 1991. For further information contact the Provost's Office (208-885-6448).
A. Appeals from decisions of the Academic Hearing Board, Academic Petitions Committee, Admissions Committee, Graduate Council, and Honors Program Committee are submitted to the provost either (1) by the student--or applicant for admission--whose request has been denied by one of those bodies or (2) by the academic authority whose decision has been reversed by one of them.
B. If the provost concurs with the body whose decision was appealed, the appellant then may appeal to the president and regents if the president and regents consent to hear the appeal.
