POLICY REPORT #24

MEMBERS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO FACULTY
The items
listed below have been approved by Faculty Council and will be considered to
have the necessary faculty approval unless a petition
requesting further consideration of these items is signed by five faculty
members and submitted to the chair of the Faculty Council (Fran Wagner
– Campus ZIP 1132) within 14 calendar days after the date of circulation –
November 21, 2003.
If no
petition is received within those 14 days, the report will be submitted to
the president for approval and transmittal to the regents, if regents'
action is required. If a petition is received, the report will be referred
to the Faculty Council. On items referred to it, the council may: (1) affirm
the action and report it to a meeting of the university faculty, (2) amend
the action and report it to a meeting of the university faculty, or (3)
rescind the action.
The following items are presented in the policy
report:
1.
Proposed Change in Name of the Division of Statistics to Department of
Statistics.
2. Proposed Change in the Name of the Agricultural Education Major
Nonteaching Option to Agricultural Education Major Agricultural Industry
Management and Communications Option.
3. Proposed Discontinuance of the Athletic Training Minor.
4. Proposed Minor in Military Science.
5. Proposed Addition of the B.S. Degree in American Studies.
