What does REU2 do?

Place students with
faculty research teams to experience scientific research.

Balanced experience that combines
mentoring/learning with realistic expectations for research
productivity.

Idaho EPSCoR provides
$4000 per student for
salary and $500 to faculty for research expenses. Students are
hired at $10/hr.
When?

Next
research period summer 2007 (May-August).

Duration 8-10 weeks.

Apply early! Deadline
April 15, 2007. Earlier is better.

Faculty encouraged to nominate students whom they
know are undecided about pursuing science even if the faculty
member may not be a mentor this year.

What will I do?
During summer 2007 you will become part of a research team's lab and
experience a research environment under the direction of faculty
mentors. Exact research experiences will vary based on your area of
interest. Examples of posters from past experiences can be found
here.

These are not the only professors available to host students, but
they have shown a particular interest in hosting an REU2
student.
How much does it
pay?
No
one lives for free. Idaho EPSCoR will provide you with $10/hr during
your experience.
When should I apply?
Apply anytime until April 15th, 2007. Earlier is better to assure
you can be matched with a mentor. Simply
