Senior Thesis
All undergraduates in the Environmental Science Program have the opportunity to do research.  The Environmental Science Program is inter-disciplinary and has over 80 faculty who are involved with it. Seniors take a practicum course their final year in which they write a senior thesis. Students identify an area where they would like to do research and collaborate with a professor who serves as the project advisor. The seniors do the primary research, write a 15-20 page thesis, do a Power Point presentation and compete in a poster competition.

EcoDorm
This is an exciting new project on campus.  Research is now being conducted to determine if the Targhee House can be transformed into EcoDorm, a house for sustainable living.  In Spring 2000 and 2001, four environmental science students focused their senior thesis research on an analysis of energy and water use in relation to the dorm and made recommendations to the EcoDorm project.  There are now fifteen students working on EcoDorm.  The Environmental Science Program is funding part of this research project with an endowment for environmental research.
