Undergraduate:  Internships
"Internships are invaluable! Internships can make the
      difference between
getting the job or getting passed over.
Experience, experience, experience...that is what everyone is
      looking for"
                                                  Megan Kershner (BS '97)
                                                  City of Boise,
                                                  Solid Waste Program Coordinator

While at the UI, Megan had an internship with the Moscow City Council and
did an environmental audit for her senior practicum.

The Environmental Science Program encourages Environmental Science students to do one or more internships as a way to get work experience and develop research interests.  Typically, students apply for an internship with a business or institution or students may develop an idea and approach a supervisor.  The UI Cooperative Education office has many internship resources available.  Career Services has information about career fairs, employer contacts, vacancy listings and student services. Students can get elective credit for doing internships by arranging the internship with an employer, the Environmental Science Program and by registering for EnvS 498.

Internship Credit

Internship credit is available through the Environmental Science Program with the permission of Chris Dixon or Max Dakins.

bulletWrite a memo about your proposed project and who will be supervising your work and turn the proposal into Chris Dixon
bulletGet Chris' or Max's approval and they will open a section of EnvS 498
bulletRegister for EnvS 498 to receive credit
